CBSE Class 12th Board Examination cancelled

 Class 12th Board Examination which was postponed vide notification dated 14.04.2021 is hereby cancelled

Class 12th will be evaluated in a time bound manner according to well-defined objective criteria. It has been decided that any student who is not satisfied with the assessment, the option to appear in the examination will be provided by CBSE as and when the situation becomes conductive.

Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 has been cancelled. It was informed that CBSE will not conduct the class 12 board exam 2021. More details of evaluation are still awaited.

Taking a decision on the much-awaited and much-awaited issue, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said, 'The health and safety of our students is extremely important and there will be no compromise on this aspect.' He also said that concern among students, parents and teachers should be eliminated. "Students should not be forced to appear for exams in such tense situation. All stakeholders need to show sensitivity towards students," he said in the high-level meeting held under his chairmanship.


Cbse 12th result 2021 evaluation criteria

For the evaluation criteria, it has not yet been finalized. It was noted that the board would take steps to compile the results in an objective and time bound manner. It was also added that if the students wish to appear in the examinations, CBSE will conduct the board examinations at a later date when it is conducive to conducting the examinations.

The announcement came as a big relief to the millions of students who are requesting the government to rally. Political leaders including Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Omar Abdullah have welcomed the decision. Kejriwal said on Twitter, "I am happy that the exams of 12th have been canceled. We were all very concerned about the health of our children. A great relief."

Education minister who is today admitted in AIIMS due to post covid complications, has tweeted - "To ensure safety & security of students, teachers & parents and to put an end to anxiety in the minds of class XII students, in a meeting chaired by Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji, it was decided to issue CBSE results based on well-defined criteria" (1/2).

The Prime Minister chaired a review meeting regarding CBSE Class XII Board Examinations. The officials made a detailed presentation on the extensive and comprehensive consultations held so far and the views received from all stakeholders including the State Governments.

In view of the uncertain circumstances due to COVID19 and the response received from various stakeholders, it has been decided that the board examination of class XII will not be conducted this year. It was also decided that CBSE would take steps to compile the results of the twelfth grade students in a time bound manner according to a well-defined objective criterion.

The Prime Minister said that the decision on CBSE's 12th examination has been taken in the interest of the students. He said that Kovid-19 has affected the academic calendar and the issue of board exams is causing huge concern among students, parents and teachers, which should be abolished.

The PM said that the state of Kovid is a dynamic situation across the country. While the numbers are decreasing in the country and some states are managing the situation through effective micro-control, some states still opt for the lockout. In such a situation, students, parents and teachers are naturally concerned about the health of the students. The PM said that in such a stressful situation, students should not be forced to sit the exam.

The Prime Minister stressed that the health and safety of our students is of utmost importance and there will be no compromise on this aspect. He said that in today's time such examinations cannot be a reason to put our youth at risk.

The PM said that all the stakeholders need to show sensitivity towards the students. The PM directed the officials to ensure that the results are prepared in a fair and time bound manner according to well-defined criteria.

Referring to the extensive consultation process, the Prime Minister appreciated that a student friendly decision has been taken after consulting all the stakeholders from every nook and corner of India. He thanked the states for reacting to the issue.

It was also decided that like last year, if some students wish to take the examination, such option would be provided to them by CBSE, if the situation suits them.

The Hon'ble Prime Minister had earlier held a high level meeting on 21/05/21 which was attended by Ministers and officials. Thereafter a meeting was held on 23.05.2021 under the chairmanship of the Union Defense Minister in which the Education Ministers of the States participated. Various options for the conduct of CBSE examinations and the feedback received from the states and union territories were discussed in the meeting.

Today's meeting was attended by the Union Home, Defence, Finance, Commerce, Information and Broadcasting, Petroleum and Women and Child Development and Principal Secretaries to the Prime Minister, Cabinet Secretaries and School Education and Higher Education Secretaries and other officials.
